When FCCM was formed there was a thought that as a group of churches and ministries we could provide Group Health Insurance. Based on the research we have done so far offering Group Health Insurance is not an option - for many reasons. We will continue to ask questions and pursue any possibilities related to Group Health Insurance. Many of you have immediate needs and are struggling to get a handle on rising health care cost. We know it is a struggle most of you are facing. Following are some options we urge you to consider that some of our members are benefiting from.
- Non-health insurance options - for instance Samaritan Ministries is a group assistance program. You can check them out on line at www.samaritanministries.com Members share the medical financial needs. Another similar ministry some of our members are using is Medi-Share. You can visit their web site at http://medi-share.org Both of these ministries are not considered Health Insurance Companies, nevertheless you can benefit from sharing medical cost. You might consider obtaining a major medical insurance policy to cover catastrophic issues along with an assistance program like Samaritan or Medi-Share
- Employee Leasing Company - this allows you to tap into resources for administrative purposes and also may provide you opportunity to be a part of a group insurance plan. Check into an employee leasing company in your area.
- Eat healthy and exercise regularly - simply put these are two strong deterrents to sickness.
- Medical Reimbursement Program - by offering a Cafeteria plan approach to employees you can provide reimbursements for medical cost that aren't covered even if you have insurance. Call the FCCM office if you want to find our more about this option.
